Back in the day pool toys pretty much consisted of inflatable (insert animal name here) toys, the odd pool volleyball net, and maybe some lame squirt guns. This summer the “robo” toys will be taking over the pools of suburbia starting with the Radio Controlled Hammerhead Shark from the Discovery Channel Store.

To be honest I couldn’t believe this thing when I first read about it but it looks legit. It is an underwater, radio controlled hammerhead shark. It can propel itself underwater via it’s small propeller prop at the tail end. The shark can climb and dive in the water and even has light up eyes for “underwater vision” (whatever that means). The Hammerhead Shark also moves like a shark, waving its body back and forth as it swims. Even cooler is that the radio controller is water proof so you can swim along side this mechanical pool monster as you guide it.
The shark can dive down to 8 feet and the controller has a range of 50 feet. The Hammerhead measures 2 feet in length and weighs 3 pounds. You can begin scarring the daylights out of your younger pool guests by picking up the Radio Controlled Hammerhead Shark from the Discovery Channel Store for $80.
