3. Stream Machine 24-Inch Water Launcher. These things have been around for a while but they are still great, especially around a pool where there is plenty of water to reload. The Stream Machine 24-Inch Water Launcher basically works like a big syringe. You fire it by pushing the two gand grips together. These types of water guns have great range and pressure. Their only major drawback is how often you have to refill them, a big disadvantage in a water gun fight.

1. Splash Attack Beast Water Cannon
This is probably the most innovative water gun of the year. The Splash Attack Beast Water Cannon marries the pressure driven design of a Super Soaker with something similar to a paintball gun. This gun shoots out round soaked sponges called Splashballs. It holds half a gallon of water and 60 Splashballs. The Splash Attack Beast Water Cannon sells for $40.
